Collaborator poll: choose your solution.
This thread for finally deciding on what the majority of the community wants done as far as the collaborator issue goes. I've tried to compile all the options as i see it and hopefully the admins will approve the poll and put it up.
IF YOU VOTE FOR OPTION 7, PLEASE POST YOUR SUGGESTION IN THIS THREAD.
ONLY VOTE OPTION 7 IF YOUR SUGGESTION IS FUNDAMENTALLY DIFFERENT TO THE EXISTING OPTIONS.

Re: Collaborator poll: choose your solution.
I think that I would vote for Option 4
But Option 6 looks very interesting. I wonder what would DEVs say to that idea.

Option 4:Collaborator does not need any major changes. It's fine as it is.

Re: Collaborator poll: choose your solution.
1, 2, or 5.
7:
Remove the -100 point score, and the time added on to your spawn time (if blufor) We all know that points shouldn't mean anything in PR (teamwork is the only thing that matters!) but really.. some stupid civilian blatantly walks infront of my fire on a group of insurgents, and I now have a ridiculous spawn time because of it?
If he's a collaborator, than he deserves to get shot if he's stupid enough to be in a war zone SUPPORTING and COLLABORATING with the enemy. If you're helping the enemy, you are the enemy and therefore, red = dead.

Ui, i have to say that 6 and 2 are best for me
I like the whole Idea with Insurgent can only spawn as civi and only can get kits from weapon cache! (Heres the original sense of those caches
, maybe you can spawn everywhere on some fixed points, but only get weapons from those caches)
Edit: please don't use red color when posting, it makes you seem enraged

Anyway.. option 6 does seem interesting.

Thanks mod.[R-MOD]dunehunter wrote:Poll added. Dropped option 8, but multiple votes are possible.
Okay, now you can actually vote, so vote away!
Just to clarify: Option 1 and 2 means that you HAVE this spawn time (Oh i got shot, 60-90 seconds left until i respawn for example), not that the current one is deducted that amount of something else.

Re: Collaborator poll: choose your solution.
7: All spawn times should be increased at least same level as collaborator is now - if not option 2.
About option 6: Ok but could make two classes, civi and cell leader.

All insurgents should spawn as collaborator and pick up weapons.

Re: Collaborator poll: choose your solution.
someone that's shooting at me.. and if you're helping him shoot at me, that obviously makes you an enemy.Axel wrote:[Offtopic] Dang! define "enemy" my friend.

If I take you out (aka kill the collaborator) it weakens him, which makes it easier for my side to win. Simple tactics. Take out the important targets. What I do though in game is not purposefully look to kill the collaborators. I just don't understand the logic behind giving them a title with a connotation that symbolizes helping the enemy succeed in their plans. Obviously in PR those plans are to beat the other team, so thus, if i eliminate someone that's helping make those plans possible.. i make my job easier.
I'm going to use this example I used in another thread about Collaborators vs. Civilians.
This is from a Marine's account in Iraq. Ended up getting an award later on for his actions throughout the rest of the fight.
"I was looking down the alleyway and one of the LCpl's ran up and said "Gunny, there's a lady out here that comes out of the building with a baby, and everytime she goes back into the building, an RPG comes out. Their aim keeps getting closer and closer". Sure enough, she walked out with a baby in her hands, walked back into the building, and an RPG came back out. We had a sniper, and the next times she came out we got her. The marines ran down and picked up her baby. We never received another RPG round from that place." (Chuck Larson, Heroes Among Us, pg 170, Penguin Group)
So was she a Civilian or a Collaborator? The marine's did what they saw fit to protect the lives of their fellow soldiers. As soon as you start helping the enemy, you should acknowledge the fact you have now voided all rights once previously given to you, if you had just stayed the hell away from the fight. Yet we (Coalition in PR) get penalized with long spawn times/loss of points if we do the same? Where is the logic?

Re: Collaborator poll: choose your solution.
3. Collaborator and Coalition both must feel the pain of the kill. Coalition is punished because they killed the civie, civie is punished so he doesn't jump in the line of fire. If both punishments are about equally annoying, there might be a chance people will stop shooting the civilians to avoid the punishment, and civies not start playing human shields or jump in front of guns again.
Do not reduce their spawntime, but add a real punishment (same spawn time as collaborator per collaborator killed, instantly killed for the second collaborator kill within... say... 10 minutes)
But then maybe remove the rocks from the collabrator kit. If this kit is not supposed to be killed, it should not be able to fight, no matter how bad.

Re: Collaborator poll: choose your solution.
gosh, they shoot a women this is insane weren't they able to shoot the RPG ?? to restrain the women.I think this is what make the difference beetween soldiers and murderers, soldiers only shoot at enemy that have positively have been identified so and that are a threat to them.
I agree that civilian shouldn't be used as shield or help for armed forces but you must remember that soldiers are trained for war, paid , and know what might happen while more often civilian haven't chosed to be involved in it.
So when the civilian/collaborator (whatever) is shot ,the soldier should get tickets penalties otherwise civilian/collaborator should have their epipen taken out or make that you don't get penalties while they have epipen in hands.

Re: Collaborator poll: choose your solution.
Well i see it as a simulating factor rather then a pratical one. It's a fact that there ARE civlians and they should't get shot in these areas, and collaborators simply simulate the fact that if you jdam an aparment block full of innocents, even if there is one or two insurgents in there shooting your men.'[uBp wrote:Irish;950716']*wall of text*
