Helicopters

Post by Alecowns »

This has probably been discussed, or maybe it isn't possible but...It would be nice if the apache and cobra had a higher view distance. We shouldn't have to be 250 yards from an insurgent to kill him.

View distance is a map thing not a player or vehicle thing. Some maps have shorter view distances and I assume you are talking about karbala.

Thats why I think the TADS and PNVS should be able to zoom in and out like the sniper scope.

Guys, the viewdistance is something set when making the map, it has nothing to do with the zoom ingame.

You can't change the viewdistance with zoom, once it's set by the mapper, it can only be changed again by the mapper, not ingame, not with some special code.
I know, it sucks, but it's not possible.

Also, even if we'd go as far as giving insanely high (& realistic) viewdistances, you'll have to have a very good comp, for the more you see, the more you load, and the more it lags. That's one of the reasons why viewdistances are generally small in comparison to RL, sadly. At least, it's not the vBF2 foggy environment lol

Try adding more RAM to the equation. BF2 always had a RAM issue

Hardcoded.

Locked.
The key to modernising any weapon is covering them in glue and tossing them in a barrel of M1913 rails until they look "Modern" enough.
