110 players PR-server test !

"!! kompassi.com BiG Reality [PR]FIN" 110-player PR server will open for public test on Sunday 12.04.2009 at 16:00 EEST.

Join to the server on Sunday and you could be one of the players in first 110-player BF2/PR server in the world!

Server is Intel E6750 with 4GB memory. Linux CentOS 5.2 64bit.
Internet connection is 100/100Mbit directly to the ISP 1GB fiber switch.

I'll try to get on Sunday but I just have one question. What did you do differently than everyone else that has tried 64+ servers? I'm just curious because everytime I've heard of someone trying this it has always failed and I want to know what you did to try and get around it.

There must be a reason for its having 110 slots instead of 128.

I'm guessing it's because of the squad limit. 9 x 6 = 54 players max on each side + 1 commander = 55.

55 + 55 = 110 players. That way no one will be left out of a squad.

What I can say to you.. I used very much time to get it up. I googled and checked forums for bf2 1.41 over 64 players and i couldnt find anyone who had done this earlier. So.. I really really wish that it works. and i think there is few others who wants it too? ;)

Server was online for free use earlier but as i didnt get enough players to it, i had to make event of it :/

If no one locks his squad and just with 5 or less people :D

Today's attempt was flop.
Maximum was 19 players. So join on sunday, guys (event though i dont think it will work :P )

128 would be too much anyway.
9 squads á 6 members = 54 player
1 Commander = 1 player
55 players x 2 teams = 110 player

I recommend that you put popular maps in the rotation, and that way people will join just to play, and not even really know about the test. I would try :

Kozelsk
Fallujah
Qwai
Asad Khal

as those 4 seem to consistently fill servers, and keep most people happy.

Wasn't the final answer from previous tests that the client program had the limit too and could only be changed through hex-editting the exe? What technique are you attempting Soppa?

Last time this was tried, the sever crashed when a 65th player joined. Hopefully you fixed that issue?

well i could be wrong but i think its only server side limit. we will see ;)
ill check it with disassembler if there is anything related on that on client side.

ok i checked fast client side and there was only limit related to use client side as server (not dedicated)..
so i hope there will be not any of such :o

Werid, because I thought that even game server would have run under a base 64 rule. 16, 32, 64, 128, and so on... odd

You should put the server up tonight. I'm guessing you'll get at least 65 eventually.
