That I think the light AT would be if it had 4 projectiles, but it doesn't. The reason I don't like optics for the grenadier is because it's just gonna make it so much easier to shoot and hit a target, it wont be a challenge anymore. The ironsights add that much of a challenge.
I guess if you are hellbent on adding optics to the grenadier then there is nothing I can do about it, but I am not going to like it one bit.

the rifleman and squadleader should hopefully get a magnified scope
the other rifleman variants should get a quick aim sight leaving the others (crewmen, engineer, medic) with irons
speaking of .6 are we going to get the engineer and spec ops sorted by way of giving them defined roles? The combat engineer should be all about explosives and an AR only (the shotgun only on urban maps is a tad ridiculous and unrealistic). My preference for the spec ops is as ever to make him a CQC specialist - fully auto AR/carbine as primary, shotgun over the shoulder and room clearing flashbangs to flesh the kit out.

ehhh, they still only get there leaf site (the iron sight at the front) when aiming the GL you do relize? the optic is only for the rifle itself....Cyber-Couch wrote:That I think the light AT would be if it had 4 projectiles, but it doesn't. if you look on the top left, you can still see the leaf sight for the GL.

If a grenadier has a scope on his gun, then I think 50% of the team would choose grenadier
grenadier is already the most powerful class for infantry combat and having a superier rifle would just make them really overpowered. Without a scope they will still have their place in a squad and will not be an underused kit like ap rifleman. I just think adding a scope would make them sort of a rambo kit. I would not like to see grenadier become a noob class like spec ops was in .4 riflemen have the smoke nades and ammo bags and are a powerful class but these special items are teamwork oriented and not combat oriented.I would rather see alot of riflemen than alot of grenadiers.

Couldn't agree more, I really want to see the grenadier with a scope.'[R-DEV wrote:Rhino']it is impossible to have a L85A2 UGL without optics. The
Its like saying every player is going to want to go light AT cos they have a lancher, if anything the light AT is more of a noob tube the the grenadier is.

Most of us seem to agree that grenadier with optics is over doing it. Imo, if this is gonna happen:
- Less ladders on roofs and less flags being cappable whilst on rooftops
- Less magazines for grenadier
- Possibly less grenades
The splash damage seems to be very large for the grenadier grenade - it's really annoying having a nice firefight going on. Only for some moron to jump on a rooftop and shoot a grenade down, killing everyone including his team mates. Devs, listen to the masses for this one, please.
Agreed Rhino, you lot will sort this out: We're trying to fix it before it arises though.

From what I understand it will indeed be riflemen, grenadiers and officers getting optical sights. Everyone else will have to make do with irons.
The key to modernising any weapon is covering them in glue and tossing them in a barrel of M1913 rails until they look "Modern" enough.
Many thanks to [R-DEV]Adriaan for the sig!

Yea, especially considering that we have a lot of noob tubers in this game right now who are messing the game up with their quick aim and pop tactics. I thought the GL required a little more skill?Lucid Nightmare wrote:mmm, I don't like the idea of a grenadier with a scope....
It seems a bit over the top...
Yea, I agree. I already have a hard time getting some of my people to change from grenadier to rifleman. Keeping the scope off of the grenadier and giving it to all the other kits except engineer would balance things out because it would prevent people from choosing those kits while being in a squad. If a grenadier has a scope on his gun, then I think 50% of the team would choose grenadier grenadier is already the most powerful class for infantry combat and having a superier rifle would just make them really overpowered. grenadier, rifleman, officers will get optics.
There are some things we can do to make the Rifleman kit more attractive over the Grenadier.
I have to admit that I don't think a Grenadier with optics is the best idea for game play.. but I am capitulating to realism here and will counter it some other way.

How will giving the grenadier optics make the rifleman more attractive? If anything, it'll be the same how it is now, but with the grenadier kit being more attractive. I would sacrifice realism for teamplay, especially in this case where we predict more people going to be grenadiers instead of other kits. You haven't had a problem with sacrificing realism for teamplay before, why not now?
