To fix the problem, I "sniffed out" the url for the zip file that contains the entire update and after a more detailed analysis of the content of the zip, I've found that it contains changes for PR executables and dlls and these changes are stored in particular "difference files" using the extension ".prdiff" . So a simple extraction of the update zip is not enough to apply the update completely. How could I apply the patch starting from the locally stored zip ?Tangodown wrote:
After succesfully downloading, installing and playing Project Reality BF2 v1.0.29.0 and succesfully updating it to v1.0.30.0 , I can't update to v1.0.31 . Getting the following error message:
Been trying it for a coupla' days, no luck yet.
Losing my interest of this whole thing anyway ... it's not me who should take care of fixing the bugs of such updater ... Such "embedded" downloader-updaters are mostly problematic I dont really understand why they are used around the net so widely. Each 2nd of these is nothing else but a source of bugs what can potentially prevent updating a game or software.
A simple downloadable offline/standalone update would be just "toooo primitive" ... right ?
... although it would probably work for everyone ...
