Futuristic ConflictS
I was browsing my old game collection and came across BF2142, and it got me thinking.
How would the Devs react to a Community Mini-Mod ala Falklands/Normandy, which instead focuses on a futuristic conflict?
Would pretty much just a facelift, could keep it US v China or w/e and just create new weapons, vehicles and a battlefield like something from Terminator (flash-forward bits), or even a complex like in Total Recall/Aliens.
Im not suggesting it, im just wondering whether something like this, if it was created, would be ever considered to adjoin the main mod, like the Normandy, Vietnam and Falklands have, or whether anybody would enjoy it.
I know this sounds quite mental but no, im not high and yes, i have been watching a lot of Sci-fi films lately.

I'm only interested in futuristic conflicts like US vs UK, or France against Germany. That would be something really fresh and unexpected.

2142 was pretty good in how it was actually quite an interesting rendition of a futuristic conflict in a unique setting. If I was a budding young modder who enjoyed PR gameplay and futuristic scenarios, I'd focus more on getting PR gameplay into 2142 rather than futuristic assets into BF2

Thats not a bad idea at all... that would also enable a few tweaks the bf2142 version brought up.[R-DEV]Rudd wrote:2142 was pretty good in how it was actually quite an interesting rendition of a futuristic conflict in a unique setting. You could try "Offworld", it was a BF2 mod (made by some PR devs, as a side-project, years ago) that focused on battles on Mars, including those space vehicles, etc. Pretty cool stuff back then.
Walkers and anything like that won't work well in BF2 at all, you need BF2142's "legs" for that

Lul..
"im not high" biggest lie I have heard in a hour.
I hate futuristic conflicts. They just aren't REALISTIC.
I think that a UK vs Germany or something would be much more better. But, who would win?

Re: Futuristic ConflictS
You can tell just from looking at Jersey Shore that tanning turns otherwise normal people into the developmentally disabled. Sorry, Dan, but it was only a matter of time for you, too. I can't feel pity for you, just as I can't feel pity for junkies.
It's like Joker's chemical plot in Batman. Instead of turning people into harrowed, green-haired botox-corpses, the combination of orange tan, hair gel and Axe body spray turns you into a fuckwit.
But seriously, another minimod? Christ, we have too many of those as it is. And had work been done on the core mod and not those we could have had more assets for those factions and maybe had the considerable amount of bugs in 1.0 reduced.

Well I Think that PR "future" conflicts are like: What would be if the war would start "tomorrow", so all that all that "future" stuff should be prepared to PR 3.0 I think
