Penetrable Bodies
Some call it a bug. I call it a feature.
The new one shot kill vs non-armored infantry targets is awesome. Why? Because it drives fear into people about getting shot. It makes PR less gamey and drives the realism factor way up. Rifles are feared once more. I'd say keep it and don't fix it.

Well, when I find myself aiming for the feet/legs of my blufor enemy for the imminent easy insta-kill, something is wrong.

Its a bug, not feature. Very annoying
Btw, yesterday killed about 6-8 insurgents in 5sec in very close combat. You dont need some smart aiming or so - get automatic machinegun, close your eyes and simply hold fire when unscoped - tadadadada!
Aim to head? No, aim to any pixel you like.
Deadly boot shot!
Heel instakill!

Played this morning Insurgency.
But if this would be the new feature for this game type, I would never play it again.
I know its good to get it more ''Realistic'' but still, on this engine of the game, it would be unbalancing and take the fun out every thing this mode offers.
I hope its a bug, and that the Devs will fix this soon.

edit: There was already a topic about this: https://www.realitymod.com/forum/f26-pr ... ill-2.html
Sorry for the complain here xD

Re: Penetrable Bodies
penetrable bodies and one hit kill are different aren't they? The one hit kill was a bug that's been fixed and will be in the next patch apparently. Penetrable bodies is definitely a feature as you can shoot through multiple people now which i really like.

ah that's a shame, i managed to get a few double kills which were cool.[R-CON]Mineral wrote:The one hit kill is a bug caused by penentrable bodies. For next version this feature Wont be enabled until this bug is fixed.
EDIT: would it be possible to add health to the insurgents so that the shot would do the same percentage of damage that it did before penetrable bodies was introduced? So if a shot did 50% damage before but it now one hit kills them why not just double the health?

Re: Penetrable Bodies
while it's quite unforgiving atm, it's not really a kill is it? it's a wounding still, as a medic can get the lad up. If someone shot me in the leg, I'm not sure how combat effective I'd be.SpectrePR wrote:Well, when I find myself aiming for the feet/legs of my blufor enemy for the imminent easy insta-kill, something is wrong.
While insta-critically wounded isn't quite right, I do like having a more vulnerable infantry on when hit on their unarmoured bits than previously.

Fix it already. This bug is annoying as hell. I have had today the worst PR day ever because of that bug and I just rage quit 'cause of it. This is bullshit and it needs to be fixed asap.

I was able to pistol whip 4 guys in really quick succession, something is wrong when a 9mm is dropping people easier then a group of guys firing Ak47s in a 5 meter engagement.

You'd still be able to lift your rifle and fire.[R-DEV]Rudd wrote:while it's quite unforgiving atm, it's not really a kill is it? it's a wounding still, as a medic can get the lad up. If someone shot me in the leg, I'm not sure how combat effective I'd be.

This updater really seems like a gimmick more than a feature. Whats the point of having it if we cant use it to fix a game breaking bug?

Re: Penetrable Bodies
While it was said that the bug is already fixed and just needs to be patched in which takes a bit longer, it's still no reason for your 'statement' above. You're not really in the position to shout at us how we are supposed to spend our freetime. Trust me, I am all for releasing the hotfix as soon as possible aswell.Meerkat wrote:Fix it already. We are working on some more stuff to get in before we release another update.
I know it's hard to wait, but all we can ask for is a bit patience ATM.

Re: Penetrable Bodies
Why do you need more content first when you've already got content that's ready to be released now? Iirc the updater was made to make it easier to give the mod small updates when needed, which this one is. You're right, you don't owe us anything, but being frustrated when some people make no sense at all should be acceptable.[R-DEV]K4on wrote:We are working on the next patch already, waiting for some more content to get in before we release another patch.

Re: Penetrable Bodies
You all happily go out and buy AAA titles full of bugs and wait months for a patch if one even comes at all but when a mod group don't fix something immediately that isn't at all game breaking if you play with a bit of sense, you get up in arms about them waiting to release the fix until they have a few more fixes in place. Priorities guys, this is not the sector of the games industry you need to be moaning at about bug fixes.
