Rallies on skirmish

Post by My_Self »

With the removal of permanent rallies close to friendly flag, some of the bigger skirmish maps (Hades, Saaremaa, Fools Road, Karbala, Lashkar, Marlin etc) have become unplayable due to long walking distances. Falling back from hot zone and placing a rally every time someone needs to spawn is just not practical.
Surely the permanent rallies won't return just for skirmish because it would draw the rally system inconsistent with AAS.
Are there any other solutions to the problem?

I'm not sure if having to walk for 20 seconds is a game breaking problem

On Hades, for example, you have to run 300 meters to the first flag. This is definitely not a 20 sec walk.

Agree, distance is too low.
Need to increase distance from spawn to flags to something like 500m or more, so it will encorage people stay wounded and wait for medic rather than do spam spawn waves.

Time to give up and respawn.

Are you sure we're playing the same game?
Even 4km AAS has lesser walking distances due to FOBs, not to mention the vehicle availability.

Notwithstanding that

Yes, and small infantry engagements it's when you have time to revive everyone after engagement before enemy will arrive from rally\spawn, rather than having non-stop give up spawnfest.

i think admins should not even consider to put Skirmish maps, infantry layout its enough for a serve crash/small scale battle.

Skirmish has something like 150 tickets which has enough time to re-seed the server and set a new map without taking forever. The only problem is setting Hades or Yamalia skirmish instead of Asad Khal as the starting map.
