Servers without battlerecorder

Post by exel82 »

I'm tired of servers that have no battlerecorder. On these servers hackers, griefers and whatnot can go freely about their business and do whatever they want. There aren't many servers that don't have battlerecorder but I think that getting a server license requires BR on the server, because this will ensure that the servers stay clean of any griefers, hackers etc. The must have battlerecorder rule could be passed on training servers and CO-OP servers in my opinion.

Some servers right now run without BR and are a cesspool for cheaters.

Seriously needs to be forced to run a server.

Yep I agree. Should be mandatory to have BR running.

I disagree, who say's people have to have something on that ruins the fun for the majority, maybe cheating is the only thing that people can enjoy, if they aren't harming you via malware or hacks or something that do harm to your system, then cheating in its own right isn't bad and having a software that records them doing it makes it even worse.

It doesn't harm anyone by having BR running, unless you assume that the majority of people are cheating?

I disagree. Getting shot through multiple bushes or HE shelled in complete cover sucks. Even more so when you know who it is and know that the person is hacking, but not being able to catch them.

BR doesnt stop hackers, but it does make the hacks useless. Having to be careful about getting caught puts you at a disadvantage over a good player whos not hacking.

That being said, do you prefer ESP or normal WH? I'd totally wanna do some hacks with you. Just send me your in-game details and hash.

Better not make him angry or he might ban you from his server.

............. can't be serious

I very very very rarely get killed and think, gee that was unfair, or gee that was a bit dodgy. Maybe its because i play with 250 ping, and the bullshit moments come so often in infantry combat.

Project reality really is an experience game, cheating would just suck all the fun out. I don't understand why players with decent PC's set everything to as low as possible, changing lighting settings, removing foliage etc.. just to try and get a few extra kills and make themselves look better, this individualist attitude really isn't in the spirit of the game.

I do appreciate the work that virus and crew put in catching cheaters, BR is obviously a vital tool. Even if he gets it wrong sometimes :p Image

Not sure if trolling or serious. If trolling... ugh, get a good rope and use some soap on it so it doesn't hurt that much.

Uhm, so private servers like ours, mainly used by members of a clan that mainly plays Arma 2 / Arma 3 and occasionally plays PR for fun, must have BattleRecorder enabled to keep their licence?

Odd, very odd.

No they don't. No such rule exist now and is unlikely to be added .
