Re: Flares
Pretty sure massive splash on aa missiles is a feature, not a bug.
Seems there will be less redirects from now on. Also seems that trying to dodge missiles without flares is now the only way of actually surviving.
I think it might be better to reduce splash radius on aa missiles now that they explode on flares more consistently.

Splash was also reduced in the same patch.

My bad then, thought mats also reduced splash with detonate distance.

Re: Flares
The changes this patch were aimed at getting missiles to actually explode on flares. As you can see that works. Splash radius is a different story

Reducing the blast radius is a very simple option without being a 'smartass'.ToXiCGrAvE wrote:Dev's of project 'Reality', what are the options?

Re: Flares
Wouldn't it be more fair to give the AA missile an explosioncone?
I'm surprised because i thought and someone mentioned here that AA missile have an explosion cone?
In the current state, the jet is always in the AoE of the AA explosion because the splash goes in all directions, right? Correct me if i'm wrong.
Step by Step scenario how it is currently :
Jet A chases Jet B (A is behind B)
Jet A fire a heetseeking missile on Jet B
Jet B pop his flares and make evasion maneuver
Missile hit flare but jet is still inside of splashdamage area
Jet B dies
Step by Step with an Splash Cone damage (idk the angle for it)
Jet A chases Jet B (A is behind B)
Jet A fire a heetseeking missile on Jet B
Jet B pop his flares and make no evasion maneuver
Missile hit flare and jet is still in splashdamages CONE area.
Jet B dies
Next spawn:
Jet A chases Jet B (A is behind B)
Jet A fire a heetseeking missile on Jet B
Jet B pop his flares and make a hard turn evasion maneuver
Missile hit flare and jet is still inside of the 55 meter area but outside of the cone
Jet B pilot happy for the next 10 seconds.
Can that work or be helpful for the never ending story of AA to OP / why CAS nerfed / Flares dont work.
Edit:
It would take much more skill to shoot down a jet by a jet because the attacking pilot decides when and from what angle he shoot on the enemy jet to keep him into the missiles splashcone..
When a jet makes a strafes left while shooting and the target jet makes an right strafe the target will be always out of the cone.
The attacking jet must come first into the best firing position to increase the chance to get the target into the splashcone.

It is not bad, but take in consideration that a jet flies really really fast, every pilot tries to burn itself out of danger area, and track enemy jet with manouvers accordingly. When a heatseeking missile wants to score a kill, it is supposed to blast quite close to the aircraft.
What might be an option is to lower the damage for the missile, the further away it is. Right now the splash is to be called to high if u ask me

Than make missile faster and check out if that could work.It is not bad, but take in consideration that a jet flies really really fast, every pilot tries to burn itself out of danger area, and track enemy jet with manouvers accordingly.
In my opinion its only to find the right settings for the AA missile (splashcone, splashdamage, splashdamage radius, speed of the missile) and maybe the speed of the counter flares, with what speed they droping away from the main heatsource - the jet.
