NO MAP CHANGES
Leave the maps the way they are. The maps are a core component in the FPS experience. Without a map, the game will suck. I constantly use my map, in both SL role and SM role.
DO NOT remove the minmaps, DO NOT make them avialable to only a SLs, ETC.
This mod already has enough core rule changes. Too many and the fun will evaporate.
who's with me?

oh the full map (as opposed to the mini-map, just for guys who dont get it)
yeh leave them (only minor tweaks, like the fact that the insurgents can see any UK firebase that is deployed on the full-map on AlBasrah

bosco and skeltor, what are you against exactly? changing the maps? or not changing them?
gurra norte, this is meant to be an all-encompassing thread on the maps. As in, NO changes to the mapping system, whatsoever. Be it mini-map or tactical map, they both serve their purposes and should not be messed with.

and when your squadmate spots an enemy soldier, are you then going to hide behind a rock, open your standard map to confirm the enemy soldier's location, while he empties a clip into you? Minimap is important too.Outlawz wrote:Remove the minimap, leave the standart map.
In case you haven't noticed, the DEVS, (bless them) do in fact act on desires and ideas that originate from within the community. I was offering my opinion as to a core component of the game that should not be tampered with.MadTommy wrote:What? not me. Thats a ridiculous statement.
If there was an option in the vote; to allow the DEVs to develop as they wish; i would of voted.

The above to me is unacceptable 1) the minimap must be completely removed and 2) the 'm' map should be reduced to a paper map or at the very most a more realistic interpretation of a modern GPS. Not the all seeing, all dancing, cheating and game-play destroying device it currently is.Answer wrote: NO changes to the mapping system, whatsoever. yes, I think that should remain too.'[R-MOD wrote:Thunder']so you mean the commanders all seeing eye and the "m" button map?
The mapping capability, (including mobile devices) of the military (US anyways) is really quite advanced.
I work in the GIS field so I know this for a fact.
The insurgents should not get the same mapping system, really.
