0.6 questions - civilians in vehicles and the new radio system

Post by Apheirox »

Do Insurgents gain points if you kill a civilian:

-By running him over?
-In a vehicle?
-On a ladder?
-On a grappling hook?

Also, explain the new radio system. What gets transmitted to whom? For example, does what a squad member reports get transmitted to the squad only?

Opposing forces do not lose tickets for killing civilians in those situations.

Brits don't go on joy rides running civilians over, so why should they be able to do so in PR. I see how it can be annoying if a civie gets in front of the only way in but the solution then is to chase him away with a knife or find another route. Simple.

The ladder and grappling hook situations don't make sense at all because the civilians are out in the open and going about their daily lives like all wall climbers and thus are in no situation to be shot. If this is a 'vehicle' thing with the engine then I guess it'll have to stay.

The vehicle is a tough since they could be going out for a sunday drive and/or transporting insurgents in a spawn car. I guess I agree with that one.

It would be pretty cool if you could force vehicles to a halt by standing in front of them.

It's rediculous to me that you can run them over. It is probably realistic though. In RL you don't get punished very much for killing civs in Iraq.

Plz , still take this out so that you can do what the other guy posted a picture of.

Radio system - only SL's have a radio, grunts do not. meaning grunts will only send radio messages locally.

You can still see on the map, if someone spots an enemy, you can also see, when nearby, the text (Need a Medic, 10-4) and very close, you hear the radio and next to it, you hear him. And get a kill, cos the tard Brit doesnt know, what radio silence is :p

I believe they killed the guy in that picture along with about 10,000 other people, now that is how you supress a civilian uprising.
And as the windshield melts
My tears evaporate
Leaving only charcoal to defend.
Finally I understand the feelings of the few.

BF2 engine considers you to be "in a vehicle" when you are on a ladder or a grappling hook

Are you serious? So you can't say 'Roger that' to an order or call for reinforcements quickly?

kristofer: heres how it works:

Grunts say NOTHING on the radio, however certain important messages still display as text messges (Roger, Negative, Sorry, Need Medic, Need Ammo, Need Pickup)

Squad Leaders say the majority of stuff on the radio, except things like Follow Me and Go Go Go.

So there will be ALOT less radio spam.

If technically possible the brits should be punished for killing civilians even 'in vehicles' - except in the suicide cars.

The Tienanmen Square tank man did not get run over by the tank but he was probably killed afterwards. I don't think a soldier should get away with running over an iraqi civilian in a landrover.

however i do have a story about a group of civilians, a merlin, and the most kills in a round ;)

Tianamen square was a massacre, not a battle.

And even if a civilian were to stand in front of a bunch of tanks in iraq, I believe procedure is to shoot them.
