Vehicles are in PR very powerful and important. What about making their appearing on battlefield even more strategic and flexible?
Similar to building com. assets there will be a possibility to "buy" (request from HQ of his army) Helis, planes, armors through new context menu on Commanders HUD. There probably still have to be normal vehicle spawn waves (because team without commander would be screwed) although I would like to see them removed or make them not to occur as often as now (each 15min or more).
Naturally there have to be some restrictions - I don't plan any armor or heli zerging.
-max number of vehicles of type x present on map (regular spawns included)
-time delay between com. request and delivery (30s jeep, 1 min APC, 2 min armor etc)
-ticket cost would go up with each additionally requested vehicle (1st armor would cost 20tickets, 2nd 30t, 3d 40t etc)
-maps will have more tickets like they have now (but with destroying vehicles and requesting they will decrease fast)
-requested vehicles would spawn at the main uncapturable base in dome of death (no baseraping)
Problem is that it would need a bit more work from commander and bad commander would be able to screw the game for his team even more then now.
It would be always risky to invest so many tickets (which could be converted to soldiers lives otherwise) into a vehicle which can be blown in of vBF2 rambo.
-------
This would bring RP even more to RTS genre (which I think is a good thing) and battles would be even more unpredictable (one commander can use air power, apcs and a lot of fast jeeps , another would use armors and mobile AA supported by infantry and Helis ...)
--------
Another idea would be to allow commander to temporary increase max number of lim. kits with spending tickets.
For example : For 10 tickets he would be able to have 3 HAT (2normal + 1temp) in his team if enemy has advantage in armor. Or another AA if enemy has more helis or better pilots. etc
------------
I know this idea is probably demanding of too much teamwork, discipline and maturity from pub gamers....
But imagine it in organized tournament environment!
