About Spec Ops
Well its been alot of talk about Spec Ops class best suggestion is to make a faction/squad base thats all spec ops (medic, at, sniper, etc)
So what do we have in the normal game play then why not replace the spec ops class with a recon class that co-op with sniper
Give the recon class a binocular, sidearm and a m4 this should be a co-op class with sniper to well check out distance to target etc and then let the sniper know how to aim (counted with drop off)
thats my 5 cents

i agree, im pretty sure from what ive heard that spec ops will have maps of there own, as will paras, marines etc. the recon ideas good, but im not sure how many people would be to keen to spend a game following round a sniper and just spotting stuff for him

good point, as long as you could swap places when you died so the spotter becomes the sniper and visa versa

i disagree, you oculd just have two snipers in that case, first of all, I know my clan clan revolves around the G36, it's a great gun. Also, Spec Ops is great for going alone on reconaisance or just a one man assault.
To add to that, C4s are what i feel are an essential part of BF2, considering you can take out the artillery or UAV that way. Srry if you guys hve already taken out that stuff, but i can't read everything.
But I very much disagree with that. You're basically suggesting taking it out for another sniper class. Also, you won't get any kills if you're just pointing out where the sniper needs to shoot. And it wouldn't be fair to count either one's work as an assist, because no one wants to wait around and let the other guy rank up, and likewise for the sniper, who is skilled in sniping.

Or what about this.
If this new 'spotter' class spotted an enemy soldier say, 450m in front of the firing position, a target would appear either on the sniper's mini-map or on the sniper's HUD. Firing at this target that's been selected by the spotter, it would improve the accuracy of the sniper's shot (ASSUMING IT'S ON TARGET) dramatically. Obviously the spotter would get a score for each successful kill the sniper made that was targeted by him. If the sniper was to go alone, then his accuracy would suffer quite a bit. This would also have the benefit of teamwork (althoough 2 man teams).
It would prob need to be a seperate 'sniper squad' of 2 players though

Eh, I don't know. The sniper's fire should be dependant on his ability alone. As it is I don't like the spec ops, in my opinion they epitomize the run-and-gun style of play EA was going for. I say take them out and work in a supply class (that could carry an M4 or M16) that gets the ammo instead of the machine gunners, who (especially with SAWs) can lay down an infinite ammount of fire.

The thing about having a 'spec ops' class is that I don't think it is very realistic. As it is the BF2 gamestyle is geared more towards conventional warfare. I'm sure you'll occasionally see an SF troop or two involved with the conventional side of things but the way BF2 has implemented them is as a Rambo style class. Their abilities most likely wont be erased from the game (i.e. C4) but being an unrealistic class, you might not see an available spec ops class.
