[Map-Idea] Jdam

I'm debuting whether or not to start this map idea i've got.. please help me out..

The idea is the ADF (example) have moved into a small village in iraq, afghanistan etc and worst has come to worse and they've had to jdam a large portion of it - half the village has been destroyed.

now my idea rest completly on the facts here.. If a Jdam were dropped on a village would the military move in ? or would they leave it be ?

Also what is the blast radius of a jdam and whats the radius of damage that it usually cuases (is there a shockwave that rips things up further then the blast radius, if so how far?)

Edit: how deep a hole would a jdam cuase?

Just spinning some ideas out..

jdams are more percision strikes then big booms.

If true, this is probably a good thing... seeing as statics are limited. Too large an area and youd end up reusing the same destroyed building like 50 times :P

But thats not to stop you :)

Id say make a cool city map that had a JDAM dropped in some industrial area [construction/hotel/something or other] and build a nice city around it. Make the JDAM near the center so the rubble area would be a bit of an important area?

Could be really cool... but Id really love it even more if it had custom dilapidated building statics ;)

by " it takes out half the village i didn't mean it so litterally , but when a jdam goes off .. do building set alight and all that ? also would the target area vaporise or not ?

Like said before they are not always huge booms, they are more for precition.

Precision is right since they are laser guided but depending on the size of the bomb would determine a big boom or not. Its a bomb lmfao so of course its gonna make something go boom :-D

oh! no this village is under tailban control its not a civilian village.
I've been able to find out a 2000lbs Jdam's "zone" is 300ft. or (92m) how big is our jdam ?


Question for Dev's(or anyone who can answer it): how can i make destructable objects start destroyed ? they keep diverting back to geo 0 .

Question 2 : is it possible for at the start of the round 2 Jdams to fall on the village ( automatically)

Yeah..

Even if the village is under Taliban 'controll' there still can be innocent civilians insie the village. So most of the time -I think- They'll send a bunch of boots up there to take controll..

JDAM is not a bomb it's a guidance system you put on a bomb so they don't have a size. You could bolt it to a hand grenade and call it a JDAM if you wanted.

Well then we'd have to look at the world's largest conventional bomb... the MOAB.

But I agree... a JDAM isn't going to cause the amount of damage you think it is. And it definitely wouldn't be used as an indirect bombing device. And about the nearby buildings igniting, no it won't happen. You would need special types of munitions in order to do that .
