[Help] First time making a PR map.
I have been thinking for a while and it would be great if I could contribute to the PR mod in some way. So I was thinking of making a PR map. For the coming weeks I am going to devote my time to make a good, playable and balanced ol' classic infantry map. Since this is the first PR map I will be making it would be great to get serious advices and some help. I'll try to keep everyone updated and i hope you can give me a hard time so I dont have to worry about anything.

You could try and use the image-colormap tutorial. Sketching your map then using the sketch in realtime 3D helps a lot when you want to be sure of proportions and how you're going to layout your map.
As for another advice, don't think about assets at all. Just make the terrain, then the human constructions, then once this is all finished, post some screens and then think about wich factions and assets will be in.
A good thing also, is to use real-life locations (with RL pictures) to base your map on. It helps you breathe life into your map and make it less vBF2-like. Combine satelite pics with image-colormaps, and you'll have what you need to make a PRized map.

Re: First time making a PR map.
Thank you
Been looking into some places in Afghanistan and one of the places that really cought my attention was "IED valley"(517) in Farah Province. I dont find alot of info about it besides Wikipedia but i'll try to find more about it. Searching Youtube and Liveleak.

Farah, Afghanistan - Wikipedia, the free encyclopediaThere are secondary roads in different directions from the city. One major road called 517 or "IED Alley" appropriately named by Coalition forces due to the high number of road side bombs, leads to Ring Road. Both Ring Road and 517 were recently built in coordination with many different ISAF/NATO countries.

Also make sure you check up on if the static objects available can approximate the desired look.
