My Squad Loadouts (Jack of all trades?)

Post by gamapg »

Meh... I'm more geared towards encountering the worst... I hate enemy armor, I hate enemy Air strikes, I hate having no armor support, I hate having no air support, but I gotta deal with this.
Please be gentle with criticisms, only kinda new around a month, but loving the community.
My basic squad loadout (For the main assault, covert ops is a hassle, I like to chill with RIDE OF THE VALKYRES (sorry if I mispelled)
Jungle (Ghost train)
Fireteam 1
SL: Officer
sq1: medic
sq2:Granadier

Fireteam 2
FL: SAW
Sq1: LAT
Sq2: Medic

2 medics- jungle, fireteams can work towards objectives independently but not too far off
LAT - never know, plus its a good morale booster for us, sapper for the enemy
Grandier - morale, smoke, boomshakalaka
SAW- ya...

Urban (mutrah,ramriel)
Fireteam1
SL: Ofcr.
sq1: medic
sq2: specialist/granadier

Fireteam2
FL: LMG (Yes I love it)
Sq1: HAT/specialist (depends on friendly armor)
Sq2:medic

*Specialist- I like abusing grapples... I'm lazy, dont judge me :p
*HAT- Everyone likes explosions, pesky tanks will get OMGWTFBBQ
LMG- ya...
*2 medics - as discussed in this thread

Desert (That map where MEC and US has to fight for the center bunkers - N and S bunker)
SL: Ofcr.
Sq1: medic
Sq2: granadier

Fireteam2
FL: LMG
Sq1: HAt/Medic
Sq2:Marksman

*HAT/MEDIC- Depends on sit., if tanks want to roast me HAT them, if I'm advancing through infantry, MED...
*Marksman - great spotter, great SA, can pin enemy snipers (lol cowards afraid of getting killed mwahahah)
*LMG - ya...
*Granadier - as explained

*You can assume that if I have ample armor/air support I would barely bother with both a HAT and LAT, maybe a LAT to scare him away, then have the tanks gobble him or the jets obliterate him

*I realize that my loadouts may not be spectacular in a field, but I prefer to be a jack-of-all-trades squad, ready for anything. If somethings amiss, I'll SL my way through it. If I can't, I'll call in an airstrike :)

i like ur loadouts. i would scrap the LAT in the jungle though and go for more unscoped firepower. the LAT is good only in few situations and vehicles on OGT are all torn apart quickly by small arms fire.

you should never take the H-AT without bringing ammo to support it. i always like to have at least two riflemen in my H-AT squads.

as long as the H-AT guy doesnt use his bandage (LAT shouldnt ever use bandages either, unless absolutely necessary), you can reload the H-AT easily off of ammo bags.

HAT for taking out Taliban armour....?

My loadout for insurgency maps go like this.

Flank, Fireteam 1:

Officer
Specialist
Rifleman (he can decide which one to take)

Suppression, Fireteam 2:

LMG (has command of FT2)
Grenadier
Medic

The grenadier is good for anti infantry AND taking out lightly armoured Taliban vehicles. I would substitute specialist or the rifleman for a marksman, which would increase the squads range.

Errr... for the part on urban, ya for insurgency maps I mostly take granadier, but for muttrah I'll need the firepower.

As for marksman, I'm not confident with people unless they prove themselves with normal rifles and are capable on moving into position without getting killed. Specialist really adds versatility to the squad in those really urban places which can help you bypass strongpoints

In most situations i think it's best to leave the hat out of a 6 man inf squad, it's a pain when you loose it to enemies, it's slow to deploy and the splash damage isn't huge imo.
It's a great situational kit, such as when you know theirs an apc coming, and your beside a crate, or used for camping certain chokepoints (E.g. Bridges on Qwai.)
On insurgency though, i think the HAT kit is a horrible one to take, i've seen enemy hats stolen on Basrah before, and the British got mullered, because whenever their armor try's to push up they get taken out, by their own kits.

Criticism: On Ghost Train/Jungle maps you have named many scoped weapons. These are monstrously impractical for jungle fighting as the extreme short range nature of any contact makes iron sights far superior.

Also you seem to name particularly asset heavy squads i.e using up many of your teams resources for just 1 squad. Ever think of having a rifleman or 2? People so often underestimate the usefulness of the rifleman, he is an offensive weapon with smoke and frag grenades, can choose whether to have iron sights or optics and therefore tailor is weapon to the situation at hand and at some point that grenadier and SAW are gonna need ammo, for which the rifleman has an instant supply.

in OGT scoped weapons are actually effective however on all other jungle maps they are almost useless. Iron sights infantry using the assault tactic can be very effective on those maps ( Assault tactic is pinning them down while a group of rifleman approach them, throw grenades and then rush them in full auto)
