The loops are for textures, because if you look at th reference, the monument is made of rounded blocks stacked on top of each other. Since modeling this would require too much detail, I plan to use textures to achieve this by giving each block a darkish texture at the bottom.Tim270 wrote:Kill all the loops on the main 'spire' unless they are there for texture cuts.
Also look for a texture pallet to use early on or it may come back to bite you later.

The first one is better for lod0, 478tris isn't that much at all, I have chairs where the lod0 is 300 trisShovel wrote:I have 2 versions of the shrine, one with the individual block modeled, on with the tower as one object:

It's still a triangular hexagon, the sides of the base are clearly not equal, it has 6 sides with 3 being being a 1/3 of the length of the larger sides
Not the flat "main base" that clearly is a proper hexagon, but the one just up from that which is kind of like a traingular hexagon type thing'[R-DEV wrote:Rhino;1597901']

Except it's not[R-DEV]Rhino wrote:each side is looking an equal length to me...

I was referring to the foundation, not the shrines base thats on top of the foundation which is the only bit you can clearly see in that satellite image. You can not tell the shape of the towers base in that sat image, even with you drawing on top of it as its obviously not that large in comparison to the ref pics.Broseph wrote:Except it's not
