Technically this is PR, not BF2 and probably because there is no joystick support in BF3 which is the biggest turn off ever for any 1/2 serious + pilot, not to mention no mod support for BF3 if your talking about modding it to make it more realistic like what we do here.

IMO Realism>Gameplay Balance but that's just me.

TBH it should be Realism = Gameplay and balance. Not Realism -> Gameplay or vice versa.

I say leave it, theres many times when Ive played infantry and called in for chopper support while under fire . Taking cover and trying to peak up at your attack chopper battling it out with the enemy attack helo and then coming to help u is the best.
