I dont know if this will come as incouragement or not but it is meant to be. When i first started modeling i learned a few basics, but then jumped right in. This was one of my first models:

So if you want to make one you can, it will be hard and time consuming. The hardest part will probably be the UVs

Most military vessels are armed to the teeth. This is gonna be a long shot, but after you're done (lol), you might want to consider the Admiral Kuznetsov for the Russians, which is also the same thing as the Ukrainian Varyag for the Chinese. Then you can have carrier to carrier engagements on 17km^2 maps.

You mean because in the PR setup the Russians and the US is the same team (Team 1) whereas the Chinese, MEC, etc are on the other team?Maxfragg wrote:would be really funny to have a carrier vs carrier map with US vs China (since the US will not fight against the Russians)
Or do you mean scenario wise? Who knows what can happen in the future and it does not matter in terms of gameplay. Just the other week Putin send a fleet of bombers toward UK airspace as a threat to NATO's policies.

Good luck trying that one. China only has one Russian made carrier in their navy and it is in pretty bad shape. Probably doesn't even have an engine. Would be a very bad battle for China in that map. Might sink as soon as the game starts.

the "thing from SF" is the same landing craft that is already in Battlefield 2 just with rooms inside and it isn't even half of the sice of a nimitz class aircraft carrier, those landingcrafts can only launch vertical take of jets like the harrier and helicopters, in real live a F/A-18 can not start from this baby carrier
